Be Merry and Cheer To Your Skincare – Useful Tips To Follow In Winter

By Editor, December 1st, 2017

We are now in December, and those temperatures are dropping letting us know that winter is upon us. Even though the weather can make the leaves fall it doesn’t mean your face has to fall with them.

I’m a Cosmetologist and a Blogger with an average budget to spend on skincare. I can’t afford the celebrity products, but I want to make the right purchases for my dollar to go the extra mile.

So I’m sharing with you my favorite Natural remedies for irritable skin, my favorite products that work, and the perfect foundation to for everyday use! I’m an everyday girl that wants my skin to look like an A-lister, and this is how I get it.

Natural Remedies For Irritable Dry Skin

1. Coconut Oil Is No Secret

After spending this last summer traveling the Baltic on a cruise ship, I developed extremely dry skin, and it’s only gotten worse since returning to the U.S. The seasons were changing, and I desperately needed a quick pick me up when I ran out of products on the ship.

My husband was working as a singer, so he used coconut oil periodically to help soothe his vocal cords. After several days at sea, my face became really dry that I needed something quick to relieve the flakiness and that’s where Coconut Oil became my best friend.

Coconut Oil is commonly used for cooking, but it’s also filled with nutrients as well medium fatty acids. It contains something called Lauric acid; a common nutrient in breastmilk.

These two nourishing qualities are the perfect combo for moisturizing your face. If you have oily skin, I would recommend using just a dime size, but for me, there are no boundaries to how much I put on.

2. Just Add Honey

Need a scrub to help with dry patches on your knees or feet? You can go all natural with sugar and honey scrub. You can even add a little milk or coconut oil to make it creamy and less dry.

Also, did you know that honey is great for preventing acne? Yes, really! It’s antibacterial which helps with acne prevention as well as anti-aging. You aren’t limited to just a scrub when it comes to honey.

You can also create a natural honey face mask.

Make sure to buy quality natural honey, anything else is filled with artificial sugars that could cause breakouts. Just add a little water and smooth it out upon your skin.

Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and feel the texture of your skin be as smooth as a baby’s bottom.

3. Got Milk? Try A Milk Cleanser

For years I have settled for a dehydrated face after I use of my daily face wash. Have you experienced that?

Your skin feels so tight like a rubber band, completely zapped of its natural oils. I knew this feeling all too well until I discovered milk!

Allure recently released some of their favorite moisturizing cleaners that I like the best; its milk-based cleaner with a blend of five skin conditioners to balance out your skin and give it life!

4. Eat Clean For Clear Skin

Cleaning up your diet can do wonders for your skin! As Americans, we tend to gravitate towards the sugary and high in fat foods that damage our bodies and our face. These low-quality foods cause blemishes, oily skin, skin irritations and the list goes on and on.

Toss out the cookie jar! Large amounts of sugar can cause your insulin levels to spike, therefore, causing acne breakouts and skin rashes that no one wants.

Throw out the potato chips and substitute them with foods high in Omega 3’s such as fish oil, seeds like sunflowers, and egg yolks to name a few.

Well known Dermatologist Jessica Wu says, “I tell my patients that what they put in their mouths is as important as the products they apply on their skin,” (dermatologist and creator of Dr. Jessica Wu Skincare)

Must-Have Budget Friendly Skincare Products

1. Belief Moisturizing Eye Bomb Cream

This blue little bottle contains hydrating ingredients like herbs, comfrey leaf, and lastly an elasticity-boosting pennywort herb. It cultivates fresh and radiant looking skin with a light yet effective moisturizer that blends into the skin easily.

I noticed an immediate difference when I first applied it to my under eye bags. I struggle with everyday puffiness under my eyes, and I saw a quick change in just a few days after using this eye bomb.

Wear it under your makeup as part of your daily skin routine or try it before bed after you use your toner along with your nighttime moisturizer.

2. Argan Milk Hydrating Treatment

I told you I drink milk! Well, my skin does anyway. I love this moisturizing complex. It’s full of purified water and argan oil that nourishes and revitalizes the skin.

It’s milky smooth with a thin yet effective consistency. I apply this one my face before bed a few nights a week and rotate it with another moisturizer for even more effectiveness

3. Seaberry Face Oil

This is my second moisturizing tool that I use in conjunction with the Argan Hydrating Treatment. I even apply some every now and then on my hands and knees. Just a couple drops will do, and the oil will go a long way.

I grew tired of the lotion consistency and wanted something that would instantly give my skin life and hydration.

I steered away from oils for the longest time out of fear of becoming too oily but little did I know it was the secret to my dryness.

I have been using this oil with a combination of the Hydrating Treatment, and I’ve seen a huge difference. Now if your skin is naturally oily use less than a dime size of this product.

Awaken Your Skin And Look Younger With These Two Christmas Gift Ideas For Yourself Or Someone You Love:

1. Glow Pro Micro needling Regeneration Kit

This fancy needling product is hot on the market right now. It’s the home solution to your micro needling needs saving you big bucks on the expensive $1000 sessions.

I saw this beautiful product at Nordstrom’s and immediately started asking the sales lady questions. Does it hurt? Users say that it feels like the intensity of a face scrub.

How does it work? Its tiny 450 microtip needles work with an LED light to lightly puncture the skin ever so slightly to stimulate your skin’s natural collagen.

It’s been featured as an Allure beauty product winner as well. It also allows your current skincare products to be 200 X more effective giving them a new canvas to work on.

2. Mia 2 Cleansing System

Young Woman Splashing Water on Face

One of the first things my mom taught me as a teenager was never to use my hands to wash my face. First of all our fingers contain some of the highest concentrations of oil glands on our body, and then we touch our face with them!

At a young age I’ve been using a face cloth to wash my makeup off, but sometimes that can even be tricky. I saw the bachelorette Ali Fedotosky using this Cleansing System in a video on Instagram, and I was immediately fixated on getting one of my own.

It’s a sonic brush solution that takes off makeup six times better than the average routine. It a beautiful design that treats* dry skin patches as well as blemishes.

I hope that you can revisit your skincare routine this holiday season because heaven knows mom is going to want to take plenty of holiday pictures.

Find time to exercise, eat healthy foods, and invest in some quality products that will really make a difference in the long run.
