Exceptional freaky new horror movies you must see this Halloween

Exceptional Freaky New Horror Movies You Must See this Halloween

By Editor. October 31, 2018 1:30am

Youngsters are hunted by a masked psycho during a a night at a traveling horror attraction in the slasher film “Hell Fest.”

I scream, you scream, we all scream during Halloween.

The scary movie season is in full swing, so find a darkened theater or turn off the home lights, grab the popcorn and candy corn, and embrace the chills. While you can’t go wrong with the usual suspects (“Night of the Living Dead” or any of a bazillion “Friday the 13th” films), why not try out the newest offerings? Here’s our viewing guide for every mood you might find yourself in.

Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) is haunted by the demonic nun Valak (Bonnie Aarons) in the “Conjuring” spinoff “The Nun.”

If you enjoy long walks in haunted convents: ‘The Nun’

James Wan’s “The Conjuring” universe expands with a gothic spinoff that takes a priest (Demian Bichir) and young novitiate (Taissa Farmiga) to a cloistered Romanian abbey. As if it wasn’t creepy enough, things get straight up deadly when our heroes find out it’s inhabited by Valak (Bonnie Aarons), a demonic woman of the cloth.

Red (Nicolas Cage) prepares for war by forging a destructive ax in the fantasy thriller “Mandy.”

RLJE FILMS

If you have unicorns, dragons and/or armored warriors spray-painted on your van: ‘Mandy’

Nicolas Cage rules in this heavy-metal revenge thriller that’s like Boris Vallejo fantasy art come to life. Cage stars as a lumberjack whose beloved Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) is killed by an unholy cult, and he goes on an ultraviolent, drug-fueled, ax-wielding odyssey to right that wrong. (In theaters now and streaming on iTunes, Vudu and Amazon.)

A neighbor witch (Cate Blanchett, left) comes to the aid of a boy (Owen Vaccaro) and his uncle (Jack Black) in director Eli Roth’s “The House With A Clock in Its Walls.”

QUANTRELL D. COLBERT

If you’re just not ready for hardcore horror yet: ‘The House With A Clock in Its Walls’

Director Eli Roth shifts from adult-oriented creep shows to one for the kids with this adaptation of the John Bellairs book. Jack Black and Cate Blanchett as a couple of magical types who help an orphaned misfit (Owen Vaccaro) investigate the tick-tocking beat of a supernatural mansion and stop the end of the world. (In theaters now.)

Zazie Beetz delivers pizza and digs into supernatural shenanigans in “Slice.”

A24

If you prefer your B-grade creature features with extra cheese: ‘Slice’

Chance Bennett (aka Chance the Rapper) makes his acting debut – and is pretty good! – as a moped-driving werewolf in this indie horror comedy. There’s a serial killer on the loose murdering pizza delivery folks in a small town, ghosts haunt the place and hold down regular jobs, and Zazie Beetz stars as a pie-slinging heroine who leads the charge to solve the mystery before things get even weirder. (Streaming on iTunes, Vudu and Amazon.)

Charlotte (Katelyn Mager) takes a fishier form in “Mermaid’s Song.”

WILD EYE RELEASING

If you’re disappointed Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ lacks musical monsters: ‘Mermaid’s Song’

This dark Depression-era take on the Hans Christian Andersen tale is missing singing Jamaican crabs but does have tuneful youngster Charlotte (Katelyn Mager) caught between the land and the sea. Her bewitching pipes become the star of her family’s struggling all-girl revue when it comes under the influence of a local gangster (“Game of Thrones” villain Iwan Rheon), whose goons bring out her deadly fishy side. (Streaming on iTunes, Vudu and Amazon.)

“The Other” uses scary decor as a backdrop for his bloody rampage in “Hell Fest.”

JACKSON LEE DAVIS

If you fail to find that ‘It’s a Small World’ ride unsettling anymore: ‘Hell Fest’

This is never a good setup: A bunch of friends get tickets for a traveling horror-tinged attraction at an amusement park, and they’re followed by “The Other,” a masked weirdo in a hoodie. Chaos reigns when the psycho starts picking them off one by one, and everybody else thinks it’s just part of the show. (In theaters now.)

Thomas (Dan Stevens, left) runs afoul of a cult leader (Michael Sheen) in the period horror film “Apostle.”

WARREN ORCHARD

If you’re in need of a proper spiritual freakout (and have already seen ‘Hereditary’): ‘Apostle’

In 1905, Thomas Richardson (Dan Stevens) learns his sister has been kidnapped and held for ransom by a religious cult, and he makes the jaunt to a remote island to get her back. Come for Michael Sheen as the group’s charismatic leader, stay for the old-school torture and crazy revelations. (Streaming on Netflix.)

A couple of pals (Caleel Harris, left, and Jeremy Ray Taylor) need to stop sinister forces invading their town in “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.”

DANIEL MCFADDEN

If your tastes veer toward the classics (kid edition): ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’

Based on R.L. Stine’s book series, the sequel centers on two friends (Caleel Harris and Jeremy Ray Taylor) who open one of Stine’s tomes, unleash the author’s mad puppet Slappy and inadvertently cause an invasion of sinister Halloween decorations, from Gummi bears to party-store witches. (In theaters now.)

Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode in the new “Halloween,” which continues the story of Curtis’ film debut 40 years ago.

RYAN GREEN/UNIVERSAL

If your tastes veer toward the classics (adult edition): ‘Halloween’

Forty years after John Carpenter’s original, the sequel centers on Round 2 between former baby sitter and now gun-toting grandma Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and masked maniac Michael Myers, with Haddonfield, Ill., ground zero for another tragic Halloween night.

Dakota Johnson (center) learns there’s something seriously off about her new ballet troupe in “Suspiria.”

ALESSIO BOLZONI/AMAZON STUDIOS

If you think your dance/Pilates/spinning instructor is a real witch: ‘Suspiria’

In Luca Guadagnino’s new take on Dario Argento’s 1977 blood-soaked classic, Dakota Johnson stars as a talented American dancer who joins a famous troupe in Berlin with a darkness at its heart that affects her pirouetting peers (Mia Goth, Chloe Grace Moretz) and the company’s enigmatic artistic director (Tilda Swinton). (In theaters now in New York and Los Angeles; expands nationwide Nov. 2.)

Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir Luxury wedding worth of $1.7 Million in Miami

Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir Luxury wedding worth of $1.7 Million in Miami

By DCWLifestyle October 17th, 2017

Gucci Mane Marries Keyshia Ka’oir in Lavish Miami Ceremony
The big day has finally come: Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir have walked down the aisle

Ka’oir stayed with Mane throughout his most recent stint in prison, for a highly publicized murder charge which was eventually dropped. In his book The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, he wrote that after he went back to prison, he got sober because he “wanted to be able to go on tour and have the energy to put on a show for my fans…I wanted Keyshia to lose her mind when she came to pick me up.”

The big day has finally come: Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir have walked down the aisle.
The pair were married Tuesday evening at the Four Seasons in Miami, Doublecrown confirms.

Ka’oir, who walked down an elevated aisle, shared a photo of her bedazzled wedding dress and jeweled headpiece on Instagram and Twitter along with the caption: “Mrs. Davis #1017.”

A who’s who of hip-hop and Atlanta’s social scene gathered for the ceremony which cost a staggering $1.7 million.

Guests included Sean “Diddy” CombsReal Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Karrueche Tran, Lil Yachty, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Monica, Big Sean and Jhene Aiko.

The couple chronicles the road to their extravagant wedding in Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir: The Mane Event, — a 10-part special premiering on BET at 10 p.m. — in which fans will get an up-close look at all that went into crafting the nuptials.

“I want a royal wedding!” Ka’oir, 32, declared in a PEOPLE exclusive clip ahead of the show“All white with diamonds and crystals.”

Along with her excitement, Ka’oir also expressed some frustration in the clip, saying, “I don’t know if it’s the wedding. I don’t know if it’s the fame … I don’t know if it’s because who my husband is gonna be. Everybody going coco-loco on me.”

Earlier this week, the lovebirds shared sweet photos of their wedding rehearsal, with the rapper, 37, surprising his leading lady with a new car.

“His and Hers Guwop bought his wife a Wraith!” Mane captioned an Instagram photoof himself and Ka’oir posing in front of cars.

He also shared a photo of himself sporting a wide smile in a red and black suit, writing, “Waiting on my bride!!! #KeyshiaAndGucciWeddingRehearsal.”

Mane popped the question in November 2016 during an Atlanta Hawks game — and the NBA shared the sweet moment on Twitter for the world to see.

In the video, Mane and Ka’oir can be seen on the “Kiss Cam” before the rapper presents a shocked Ka’oir with a huge sparkler. The team’s mascot, Harry the Hawk, was also on hand to congratulate the couple, giving Ka’oir a bouquet of roses.

After the proposal, Mane shared several photos of the happy couple on Instagram. “She said yessssss!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky me,” Mane captioned one photo, alongside a pair of Santa emojis.

In a separate post, he showed off a close-up view of Ka’oir’s stunning diamond ring. “She deserve it!! My bride to be!!#Wopsters luv you my baby,” the Atlanta-native captioned the video.
